I get an error when I try to install under 64-bit OS's?

Message states unsupported OS.

SP3 Virtual Machine 64-bit.

Still unable to install under Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.

Is Windows 7 Professional 64bit even a supported platform?
If I were you I'd look up the system requirements on the download page,
it would mention supported operating systems.

Yep, I run Windows 7 (x86) 64-bit.

AND I recall having the same problems with the JAVA JDK under Windows
7.

There are 2-versions for Windows 7. Make sure you are installing the
64-bit version.

BUT, now that I think about it, I had some problems with a lot of my
legacy 32-bit software and drivers when I upgraded to a new system.

I had to d/l, and install Windows XP mode and Virtual PC. I installed
all my programming stuff into XPMode. Since, I got all my programming
software installed and running in XPMode, I haven't tried to
re-install under Windows 7 (x64), again.
